I'm gonna cry, cry, cry, cry If my baby don't come back to me soon Here I lie, lie, lie, lie By the light of the pale white moon All the people pass me by They can't see the tears in my eye And I'm wondering why, oh why Does my baby not return? Said I'm gonna cry, cry, cry, cry If my baby don't come back to me soon Here I lie, lie, lie, lie By the light of the pale white moon All the tears I cry They are falling now from my eye And I'm wondering why, oh why Does my baby not return? Said I'm gonna cry, cry, cry, cry If my baby don't come back to me soon Here I lie, lie, lie, lie By the light of the pale white moon All the tears I cry They are falling now from my eye And I'm wondering why, oh why Does my baby not return? She's only gone an hour ago, Richie She's headed out to the shops She's gone to get a packet of crisps And a bottle of pop! I'm gonna cry, cry, cry, cry All the tears gonna fall from my eyes And I'm gonna wonder why, oh why Will my baby come back to me soon?

about

A new selection of Mint Biscuit tunes, some new, most older.
Just because I am bored and want to release something!

Review of Vested Interests
by Hans Werksman, herecomestheflood.com

Welsh guitarist Richard Thomas wraps up 2022 with two more homegrown albums: Clouded By Obscurity and Vested Interests. He can't help himself: the ideas keep coming and he wants to share most of them with the outside world. So: one album with mostly new tunes and the other one a compilation of old ones, revisited ones, and yes, more new ones.

Vested Interests

This album is more of a mixed bag. He kicks off with a trifecta of toe-tapping tunes - Cry, Cry, Cry; Curtains For Cuthbert; Sprouty's Blues, before painting himself into a corner with Twix Hat Variable, a mid-tempo rocker that tries hard, but never really gels. Taking into account that Thomas often reworks his compositions, there is a fine chance that he will get it right the next time.

He does some nice call-and-response stuff in Apricot Jam, a trick that he should use more. Thomas writes in the liner notes he was bored and he just wanted to release something. Glad he did. It might be a bit uneven at times, but there are plenty of gems to enjoy.
